Dear Readers,
The buzz of federal conference feels both just like yesterday and a lifetime ago. In this issue, you’ll find a recap of all the happenings from conference. From conference reports, to the welcoming and farewelling of Federal Councillors and everything in between, the different conference perspectives offered in this magazine truly show the depth and breadth of the impact attending a conference can have on someone. If you’ve never attending a Federal Conference before – add it to your bucket list, you won’t regret it.
My favourite moment from conference was watching Wendy Hick receive her ICPA Australia Federal Life Membership. Wendy’s passion and expertise in advocating for geographically isolated children has spanned for decades and if you’ve ever met Wendy, you’ll know her warmth, steady demeanour and thoughtful consideration exude from her with such ease and grace in every situation and ICPA Australia is lucky to now call her a life member. You can read all about Wendy’s ICPA journey on page 16.
Another fruitful interaction at Federal Conference was when I was speaking to a member about the content of Pedals Magazine. They mentioned that, along with the updates and stories they really enjoyed seeing the fundraising initiatives from branches as it provided their own branch with some ideas for future fundraising. So, whether you’re hosting a bake sale, a raffle or catering an event, I’d love to hear how you fundraise for your branch.
